EAST PROVIDENCE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
SEEKS VOLUNTEERS FOR ADOPT-AN-ISLAND PROGRAM
The City of East Providence Department of Public Works once again is promoting its Adopt-An-Island program in an effort to assist the City in maintaining the many traffic islands throughout the City as well as improve the appearance of these areas. The Adopt-An-Island program offers individuals, businesses, and civic groups an opportunity to clean, maintain, and beautify these areas. There are islands that are owned and maintained by the City and others that are owned and maintained by the State. A complete list of islands, the maintenance agreement, and guidelines may be found on the City’s website at www.eastprovidence.com/adoptanisland
If you are interested in maintaining a State island, additional information may be found at the RIDOT website at www.dot.ri.gov/community/adopta/adoptaspot.php
