Arraignments will be moved to January 7th, 2021.

COVID-19

WHEREAS, Mayor Roberto L. DaSilva has the safety of the high-risk community and the community at large in mind during this Pandemic involving the COVID-19 virus; and

WHEREAS, Evidence shows that some people are at higher risk of getting very sick from this virus; and

WHEREAS, High risk individuals include older adults (60 years or older), people who have serious chronic medical conditions including heart disease, diabetes or lung disease; and

WHEREAS, The City recognizes the significance of the COVID-19 outbreak; and

WHEREAS, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines state that anyone 60 years or older or those having underlying conditions not attend events with 10 people or more.

WHEREAS, Per Governor Gina Raimondo and the Rhode Island Department of Health’s guidance, the City of East Providence is cancelling all activities at the Senior Center effective immediately and until further notice, per Center for Disease Control & Prevention guidelines.

THEREFORE, by the power vested in me as Mayor of the City of East Providence, it is hereby ordered:

Section 1: The East Providence Senior Center shall cancel all activities during the next two weeks or until further notice.
Section 2: Effective Date: This order shall take effect on March 12, 2020.
