Supplemental Declaration of municipal emergency
Executive Order 2020-014
March 30, 2020
WHEREAS, on March 15, 2020, Mayor Roberto L. DaSilva, issued Executive Order 2020-004 declaring a state of municipal emergency due to the outbreak of COVID-19; and
WHEREAS, the East Providence City Council ratified the Declaration of Municipal Emergency at a meeting on March 17, 2020 and authorized its extension through April 17, 2020; and
WHEREAS, on March 27, 2020, Governor Gina M. Raimondo, announced the extension of several executive orders due to the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, two (2) executive orders are set to expire on March 30, 2020 during a state of municipal emergency;
WHEREAS, Mayor DaSilva may extend such orders if he deems it necessary.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mayor Roberto L. DaSilva, by virtue of the authority vested in me as the Mayor of the City of East Providence, pursuant to the Rhode Island General Laws and the Home Rule Charter of the City of East Providence, do hereby order and direct the following:
- Executive Order 2020-005, concerning the prohibition of on premises consumption of food and drink, which was set to expire March 30, 2020, is hereby extended until April 13, 2020. This extension shall not include paragraphs one (1) and two (2), concerning limiting public gathering to 25 persons and 10 persons in parks.
- Executive Order 2020-008, concerning the selling of beer and wine with take-out food orders, which was set to expire March 30, 2020, is hereby extended until April 13, 2020.
This Executive Order shall take effect immediately and remain in full force and effect through April 13, 2020, unless further extended.
