EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – East Providence Library Director Michael Carlozzi has stepped down from his role as of August 21, 2020.
Carlozzi, who served as director from August 2018 through August 2020, plans to spend time with his newly expanded family.
“Michael Carlozzi has been an asset to this administration and to the thousands of residents he served while in the role of library director, Mayor Bob DaSilva said. “We congratulate the Carlozzis on their new arrival and wish them a happy and healthy future.”
Mayor Bob DaSilva has named Joyce May, the city’s assistant library director and adult services librarian, as acting library director. May, who has served with the city of East Providence’s library for 18 years, collaborates with a number of organizations on a long-list of programs and discussion groups. May also founded the Weaver Library Farmers’ Market, a seasonal event that attracts thousands annually.
