East Providence seeks police body cam and in-car video proposals
EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The city of East Providence is seeking proposals for police body-worn cameras and in-car video camera systems. A body-worn camera is a small recording device that attaches to a police officer’s uniform. The body cam captures audio and video from the officer’s perspective.
The City will purchase a minimum of 50 police body-worn cameras, 17 in-car video systems and an enterprise-wide digital video management system.
“Providing body cameras for our officers will not only provide full transparency to our community, but it will also protect officers against unfounded accusations,” Mayor Bob DaSilva said.
Specifications, scope of work, qualifications and deadline are included in Request for Proposal (RFP) No. EP 20/21-01, which is available below and may be viewed here: http://www.eastprovidence.com/news/?FeedID=2281
The city of East Providence will receive sealed proposals until 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 20, 2020.
